My encounter with Frank Rothkamm was one of those situations that in time might look like a film in which two people (us) after having met, after trying to figure out the musician (terribly difficult), after having enjoyed several times more quotas record, you lose and find themselves. Sometimes it comes back, like in a movie, then disappears, as in a movie, briefly meeting some new, crazy photos on Facebook, the riperdo,
I come home from work, I find a little hole in her new album, I wonder what it will be. Pianism conceptual or abstract, or powerful electronic minimalism interior?
I love Frank because I never know who is Frank, I like it because it forces me to try to understand it knowing full well that I will never identify it, like the time I reviewed "America", the pianism integrated a German who is permeated by a new earth and many opportunities, like the time that "Reno" I fainted after the previous pianism with a house-cathartic and nihilistic, modern and pop-art or unconsciously written for the pop-art today, as well as "5 K", avant-garde without barriers, as he vanguard of a man of the past century musician who finds himself or lose (you name it) in a future restless.
"Czerny School Of Velocity" is written in the years of "America", Rothkamm sits at painoforte to be that self romantic over time, in the sunny city of the States, is lost between steel and stimuli avant-garde, Frank sits at the piano and returns his era, the nineteenth century romantic a pianist in the deep romantic.
As Dvorak and Chopin, vertiginous stairs or thoughtful pauses, moments when the storm Teuton being (the 'gewitter', the 'sturm') become the wind and the impetus, stasis or clouds, and the dream 'nightmare, with no voice, only eighty-eight keys between black and white, without voice or color, silent, black and white.
As in a film many years ago, seven movements made of leaves flying crows and laid on fences watching the countryside remains, seven tracks from the piano infused flavor of knowledge to be lost in solitude, the smell of alcohol, the dance of the smoke a cigarette that, like restless spirit, he draws his volute air. I do not know when rincontrerò Frank today, "Czerny School Of Velocity" is a sign that somewhere in the States is very much alive and vital, just this sometimes because if we want life like a movie, we do not have to read the script in advance, only expect that the writer moves his characters. Between minimalism and romanticism, the plan of Frank is back, an album made four years ago that shy becomes the signal that the musician you still want in that role, that of an artist came from Germany, first engulfed by the Big Apple then by I live in California but still be in its storm and breeze, rain and dew ...

Pianismo o astrattismo concettuale, elettronica potente o minimalismo interiore?
